Bedding sizing is one of the most common reasons for returns, and it shouldn't be. This page lists the exact finished dimensions of every Dove & Thread bed linen product. Match your mattress measurements to the table below before ordering.
If you don't know your mattress size, measure it yourself: width × length × depth (the depth is how thick your mattress is from the top surface to where the fitted sheet edge tucks under). All Dove & Thread fitted sheets are designed for mattresses up to 20 inches deep — they fit standard, pillow-top, and most hybrid mattresses.

How to measure your mattress
- Width: Measure across the top of the mattress from one long edge to the other.
- Length: Measure from the head of the mattress to the foot.
- Depth: Measure from the top of the mattress straight down to where the bed frame begins. Include any pillow-top thickness.

Common sizing questions
Will my US sheets fit an Australian or UK mattress?
Australian Queen and King mattresses are very close to US sizes — our King fitted sheet (78 × 80) fits a standard Australian King (76 × 80). The US Queen (60 × 80) fits an Australian Queen (60 × 80) exactly. UK sizes differ more significantly; please measure your mattress before ordering.
What is the difference between Twin and Twin XL?
Both are 39 inches wide, but Twin XL is 5 inches longer (80 vs 75 inches). Twin XL is most commonly used in college dorms and is the right fit for taller sleepers.
What is the difference between King and California King?
A standard King is wider but shorter (78 × 80). A California King is narrower but longer (72 × 84) — ideal for taller sleepers. The fitted sheets are not interchangeable, but both use the same flat sheet and King pillowcase sizes.
Why are flat sheets so much wider than the mattress?
Flat sheets are intentionally oversized so they drape over the sides of the mattress with enough fabric to tuck in firmly under the foot of the bed — the same generous proportion luxury hotels use for that crisp, smooth made-bed look.
